Richard is a Master Blender who’s in demand all over the world. Renowned for his encyclopedic whisky knowledge and entertaining presentations, you’ll enjoy a memorable Masterclass with an industry legend.
Dalmore’s parent company, Whyte & Mackay has just been awarded the International Wine and Spirit Competition Trophy for ‘United Kingdom Spirits Producer of the Year’ and has also picked up gold medals for its portfolio of brands including The Dalmore.

The Midlands Whisky Festival is delighted to welcome John Campbell Laphroaig’s distillery manager since 2006, becoming the first Ileach (native of Islay) to run Laphroaig in its 200 year history.
He has since taken the lead to upgrade the distillery and produce a number of successful limited edition bottlings to support the ‘Feis Ile’ (Gaelic for Islay Festival).
In addition to his role as Distillery Manager, John plays a lead role in promoting Laphroaig around the world. This includes running the distillery’s “Friends of Laphroaig” program, which today boasts a 500,000 strong membership from over 150 countries. Look forward to some special drams and a fascinating masterclass showcasing this richly flavoured whisky.
